⭐ Scam Awareness & Verification

The rapid growth of AI has made it easier for scammers to create fake breeder websites using AI-generated kitten photos and copied text from real catteries. Many of these sites appear highly professional, even though the kittens don’t exist. For this reason, we encourage all families to verify any breeder before sending a deposit.

Our cattery is registered with TICA under the spelling ASThERA (View our official listing), and under Astera in WCF and CFA. We are active in TICA shows, where our cats are seen, handled, and judged in person. To ensure complete transparency, we happily provide live FaceTime calls, allowing you to meet the kittens and see our setup in real time. We believe trust begins with openness, and we welcome any questions

FAQ

Frequent customer questions and answers. If you have questions, message or contact us on social media.

What makes Astera Siberians different from other breeders?

Astera Siberians is a preservation-focused breeding program built on formal education and international show experience.

I am a certified professional felinologist trained in Russia, where breeding is approached as a structured scientific discipline. This training includes feline genetics, health, pedigree analysis, breed development, and ethical breeding practices.

In addition to formal education, I have shown and titled cats in both WCF (Russia) and TICA (United States). Showing cats at a competitive level ensures that breeding cats meet true breed standards for structure, temperament, and overall quality.

Our goal is not simply to produce kittens, but to carefully preserve and improve the Siberian breed through thoughtful pairings, health-focused decisions, and ongoing professional development.

Adoption Fees

Our goal is to place each kitten in a stable, loving home where they will be cherished for life. Pricing reflects the quality of our breeding program, health testing, and the extensive time invested in raising exceptional Siberians.

Base Pet Adoption Fee: $2,500

Applies to traditional tabby and tortie patterns in classic Siberian colors.

This includes kittens raised in our home with premium nutrition, careful socialization, and ongoing investment into the health and preservation of the Siberian breed.

Premium & Rare Colors

Some colors require specific genetic pairings and long-term breeding plans to produce responsibly.

+ $200 — Red or Cream (non-pointed)

Warm, sunlit tones that appear less frequently in traditional lines.

+ $300 — Silver or Golden

Highly sought after for their luminous coats and striking contrast.

+ $400 — Solid Colors (won’t be available in the near future)

True solids are uncommon in Siberians and require both parents to carry non-agouti genetics.

+ $500 — Bimetallic (Silver + Golden combinations)

Exceptionally rare with remarkable depth, glow, and coat complexity.

🏆 Kittens from Titled & Actively Shown Lines

Select kittens from our most accomplished show lines may have an additional adoption fee.

Showing Siberians at a competitive level involves substantial investment in:

• National travel and show entry fees

• Professional grooming and preparation

• Conditioning and training

• Time and dedication across multiple seasons

• Maintaining top quality cats capable of competing at high levels

Kittens from these lines represent generations of selective breeding and proven excellence in the show hall. Their pricing reflects the extraordinary effort and resources required to achieve and maintain this level of quality

How to reserve a kitten or get on your waitlist?

To reserve a kitten or be placed on our waiting list, please complete the website contact form or send us a message by text or email at asterasiberiancats@gmail.com.

When contacting us, please include:

• Preferred gender

• Color preferences

• Desired adoption timeframe

This information helps us match families with the most suitable kitten and upcoming litters.

Waitlist Deposit (future kitten): $300

A non-refundable $300 deposit is required to join our priority waitlist for a future kitten. This deposit is applied toward the final adoption fee once a kitten is selected.

Reservation Deposit (specific kitten): $1,000

Once you have selected an available kitten, a $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve that kitten until pickup.

Deposits are applied toward the total adoption fee.

We maintain a small, carefully planned breeding program and prioritize committed homes.

Joining the waitlist early is recommended, as many kittens are reserved before they are publicly listed.

Can I come visit your cattery in person?

The health and safety of our cats and kittens is our highest priority.

Because we are a private home cattery rather than a public facility, we limit in-person visits to maintain a safe, low-stress environment for our animals.

To protect young kittens and our breeding cats from outside illnesses that can be carried on clothing, shoes, or hands, we do not offer open cattery visits.

Virtual Meet & Greets

We are happy to offer FaceTime or video calls so you can:

• Meet your kitten live

• See personality and interaction in real time

• Ask questions and connect with us directly

• View the kitten’s environment and care

Many families find this a comfortable and convenient way to bond with their kitten before pickup.

In-Person Meetings

In some cases, brief in-person meetings may be arranged after a deposit is placed for families who have reserved a kitten.

These visits are limited and scheduled individually to ensure the continued health and safety of all cats in our care.

Ongoing Updates

Families with reserved kittens receive regular:

• Photos and videos

• Growth updates

• Video check-ins upon request

This allows you to enjoy watching your kitten grow until the day they come home.

When will kittens be ready to go home?

Our kittens typically go home at 12–14 weeks of age

What is included with each kitten?

All kittens come with:

• TICA registration papers (if placed as pet registration papers are received after proof of spay/neuter)

 • Age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming and external parasite treatment

• Health rguarantee

• Starter kit with familiar items and food

 • Lifetime breeder support

Are Siberian kittens hypoallergenic?

Siberians are known for producing lower levels of the Fel d1 allergen, and many allergy sufferers tolerate them well. However, reactions vary — we recommend visiting or requesting a fur sample if you’re unsure.

How often do you have kittens available?

We have a few litters each year. If no kittens are available now, you may join our waitlist to be notified first when new kittens arrive.

Can I test for allergies before I commit to a kitten?

Yes. Because the health and safety of our cats is our top priority, we offer safe, controlled allergy-testing options that do not require entry into our private home cattery.

Fur Sample Allergy Test — $75

We can mail you a fresh fur sample from one of our Siberian cats so you can test sensitivity in your own home environment.

• Spend several days interacting with the sample

• Place it on clothing, bedding, or near your pillow

• Monitor your personal reaction in a natural setting

The $75 fee is credited toward your kitten adoption if you reserve a kitten within 6 months.

This option is ideal for out-of-state families or those who prefer testing privately at home.

🌿 Outdoor / Neutral-Location Allergy Meeting — $100

For local families, we may offer a brief allergy introduction with one of our adult Siberians in a controlled outdoor or neutral setting.

• By appointment only

• Held outdoors or at a pre-arranged neutral location

• Short, structured interaction with one of our cats

• Designed strictly for allergy evaluation (not general visiting)

Fee is credited toward adoption if you move forward with a kitten.

Both options help you determine your sensitivity to Fel d1, the allergen Siberians are known to produce in lower amounts.

Why we limit in-home visits

To protect the health of our kittens and adult cats, we do not offer public tours of our home cattery.

Young kittens and breeding cats have developing or sensitive immune systems, and minimizing outside exposure is essential for their safety.

📩 To schedule an allergy test, contact us by text or use the form on this page.
